I had so much fun planning and doing this styled kids photoshoot with Lynsey from 2 little birds prints. Having already photographed their stunning family when their youngest Freya was born, it made my heart sing being able to watch the girls in all their glory now. They are both beautiful and a perfect juxtaposition of each other.
Freya is a frantic, funny and fierce 2 year old with so much fire and spark in her she’s going to move mountains one day. Eva is her slightly shyer but full of sass teeny tiny older sister who is not a lot younger than my eldest boy.
We planned the kids photoshoot in Binfield, Bracknell. I’d arrived there earlier to set up and looked like an absolute plank throwing rope (unsuccessfully 7 times) up into the tree. Thankfully the cloudy weather held up and by the time it was 8am we were ready to start shooting.
As soon as we got going it was clear that Eva was going to be a dream with taking direction and that little Freya needed an entirely more organic approach.
I’d chatted to Lynsey before about how the photoshoot would flow, taking into consideration the feather crowns, balloon and other props. We knew to expect to run with whatever Freya decided she wanted to do on the day and rely on a few of my photoshoot games to keep her chirpy.
Chatting and getting to know families prior to photo sessions is key to a good photoshoot. My lets click’ questionnaire helps me get to know all my clients so I can really connect well with them all on the day.
As you can see from the birthday board in the photos, Freya had recently had her 2nd birthday. The birthday boards that Lynsey creates at 2 little birds prints are entirely bespoke and gorgeous. Freya recently used hers as a centerpiece at her 2nd birthday party (soooo, cool) I am totally wanting to get one designed for my little mans new bedroom later this summer, probably slightly smaller so I can hang it up. The best thing is I know she’ll frame it for me so I won’t have to worry about that bit! #winning
